[SF] Prohibition Era Cocktails

from 45.00

This class is designed to give mixology enthusiasts the knowledge and skills that they need to be able to craft perfect cocktails. Both novice and intermediate students will benefit from this class as you touch on the history of mixology, learn cocktail-building basics, taste a variety of spirits and liquors, and observe several demonstrations on how to shake and stir the perfect cocktail. Students will also have an opportunity to practice mixing their own cocktail with the instructor. This class will focus on cocktails that were created during “cocktail dark ages” of prohibition, and remain incredibly popular today.

Please note that this class is BYOBK – Bring Your Own Bar Kit! Students must have at least one bar kit to share between two people. Your kit should consist of:

  • A shaker (with top and bottom)
  • A strainer
  • A bar spoon
  • A jigger (chef-style jigger, or classic-style jiggers with ability to measure ½, ¾, 1, and 1 ½ oz measurements)
  • A fruit and vegetable peeler for garnishes (not essential, but preferred)

If you do not have these supplies, you can easily purchase the Bar Kit Option with your course. All necessary tools will be selected for you from the popular San Francisco supply store CASK, and brought to class for you to use! All spirits, juices, bitters, liquors, and other materials will be supplied for you to sample and use at your leisure. A recipe handbook will be provided to all students prior to class.
