[Groveland] Green Disposal Workshop

from 120.00

Human – plant relations are an ancient mutualism. Modern sanitation has divorced us from this regenerative interaction. Recent efforts have coupled the best of modern hygiene and the reintegration of human nutrient cycling. This is a boon to people interested in sustainability, permaculture and healthy living.

In this two day workshop you will learn how to navigate the social, economic and biological complexity of designing, building and maintaining a composting toilet. We will also be building and installing a compost toilet so be ready to learn some basic carpentry.

Topics covered include: commercial compost toilets vs owner-built, wet vs dry compost toilets, urine diversion, hygiene theory, soil microbiology, disinfection ecology, treatment wetlands, struvitifiers, and sanitation forestry. Enjoy the Sierra Nevada mountains on a beautiful secluded 10 acre property in Groveland, CA. 22 miles from the entrance to Yosemite and 5 miles from the Tuolumne River.
